Welcome to the GVTV Phone App!
This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about setting up your GVTV Player and sharing content with your loved ones. Let's get started!
1. Getting Started: Your Account
First, you'll need an account to manage your devices.
Creating an Account
- On the first screen, select the "Sign Up" tab.
- Enter your email address and choose a secure password. You'll need to enter the password twice to confirm.
- Alternatively, you can sign up quickly using your Google or Apple (on iOS devices) account by tapping the respective button.
- Tap "Create Account".
Signing In
If you already have an account, simply select the "Sign In" tab, enter your email and password, and tap the "Sign In" button. If you've forgotten your password, the "Forgot Password" link can help you reset it.
2. Pairing Your GVTV Player
After you log in for the first time, you'll need to pair your phone with your GVTV Player.
- Turn on your GVTV Player. You should see a 6-digit pairing code on the screen.
- In the mobile app, enter that 6-digit code into the "Pairing Code" field.
- In the "Widget Name" field, give your player a memorable name. For example, "Living Room TV" or "Grandma's Kitchen". This is helpful if you plan to manage multiple players.
- Tap the "Pair with GVTV" button.
Once paired, you will be taken to the Home Screen, your main control center.
3. The Home Screen: Your Control Center
The Home Screen is where you'll add new photos and reminders. It is divided into two pages: the main content page and a settings page.
Swipe left from the main page to access the Settings Page.
Uploading a New Photo
- On the main page, tap the large image area that says "Click to select an image".
- Choose a photo from your device's library.
- Once selected, you'll see a preview. Type a title for your photo in the "Enter Image Title" box below it.
- Tap the "Upload the selected image and title" button. Your photo will be sent to the player!
Creating a New Reminder
- In the box at the bottom of the main page, type your message in the "Enter message" field.
- Tap where it says "Select Date/Time" to open a calendar and clock to schedule your reminder.
- If the reminder is for the entire day, check the "All Day" box.
- Tap the "Upload a new Reminder" button to send it to the player.
4. Managing Your Content
To edit or delete photos and reminders you've already created, go to the Settings Page (swipe left from the home screen) and find the "Edit Images" and "Edit Reminders" options.
Editing and Deleting Images
- Tap on "Edit Images" to see a list of all your uploaded photos.
- Tap the photo you wish to change.
- On the next screen, you can:
- Change the text in the title box and tap "Update".
- Remove the photo permanently by tapping "Delete".

- Tap on "Edit Reminders" to see a list of your scheduled reminders.
- Tap on the reminder you wish to change.
- On the next screen, you can:
- Change the reminder message text.
- Tap the time icon to reschedule it.
- Tap "Update" to save your changes, or "Delete" to remove the reminder.
5. Customizing Your Player
The Settings Page (swipe left from home) offers many ways to personalize your GVTV Player experience.
- Switching Between Players: If you have more than one GVTV Player paired, you can switch between them using the dropdown menu at the very top of the Home Screen.
- Quick Themes: Instantly change your player's look by tapping one of the preset theme buttons (e.g., light, dark, or colored themes).
- Image Transitions: Control the slideshow by choosing a Transition Type (like "Fade" or "Scroll") and setting the display duration in seconds for each image.
- Sleep Schedule: Set a "Sleep Start" and "Sleep Stop" time to automatically turn the player's screen off and on, for example, overnight.
6. Account and Advanced Settings
These settings are for managing your account and performing advanced actions.
Account Settings
Navigate to Settings Page > Account Settings. Here you will find the option to Delete Account. Be careful, as this action is permanent and will erase all your data, photos, and reminders.
Advanced Settings
Navigate to Settings Page > Advanced Settings. These are for troubleshooting and technical setup.
- Show Debug: Toggling this on will display technical information on your GVTV Player screen. This is mainly useful if you are asked to by technical support.
- ReSync Widget: If your player is having connection issues, this button will take you back to the pairing screen to re-establish the connection without needing to sign out.
